Responsibilities:
- Collects, analyzes and disseminates criminal history information from various agencies to include state courts and local law enforcement agencies for the purpose of National Crime Information Center background checks, law enforcement investigations or employment.
- Interprets and applies applicable laws, rules and policies to insure accurate and reliable information is collected and disseminated.
- Reviews, develops, and recommends National Crime Information Center qualifiers for submission to program coordinator.
- Contacts court systems and local law enforcement officers by phone or in writing to obtain or clarify possible errors or inconclusive information in criminal history.
- Drafts correspondence or other responses for administrators, attorneys, and/or the general public.
- Responsible for accurately entering criminal history information into the Kentucky Computerized Criminal History system and Law Information Network of Kentucky/National Crime Information Center.
- Attends inter or intra unit meetings on behalf of superiors.
- Monitors organizational unit budget status and makes recommendations to superiors
- Tracks productivity; assists unit supervisor with the unit’s monthly and annual production reports
