Description:

THIS POSITION PROVIDES ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES IN HCF STAFF DEVELOPMENT. TRAINING DEPT. WILL CONDUCT APPROX. 26, 40-HR ORIENTATION CLASSES, 200 OF 8-HOUR ANNUAL IN-SERVICE PROGRAMS, ONGOING 200-HOUR BASIC TRAINING, AND SPECIALIZED TRAINING COURSES, REPRESENTING THOUSANDS OF HOURS OF INSTRUCTIONAL TIME. 750 EMPLOYEES WILL PARTICIPATE IN TRAINING INITIATIVES REQUIRING A VARIETY OF ADMIN AND CLERICAL DUTIES THAT ARE PERFORMED SOLELY BY THIS POSITION. INCUMBENT SERVES AS THE PRIMARY CONTACT FOR STAFF DEVELOPMENT ISSUES, SCREENING AND REFERRING CALLS AS NECESSARY, BUT PROVIDING DETAILED RESPONSES TO REQUESTS AND QUESTIONS. PROVIDES CLASSROOM PREPARATION AND SUPPORT INSTRUCTOR TRAINING ON AUDIO/VISUAL PROJECTION, RECORDING, AND BROADCAST EQUIPMENT. REQUIRED TO REVIEW SCHEDULING AND ATTENDANCE FOR CONFORMANCE TO REGULATIONS, POLICIES, AND PROCEDURES GOVERNING STAFF TRAINING AND INTERPRETS GUIDELINES ACCORDING TO DEFINED SITUATIONS. COORDINATES ENROLLMENT PLANNING AND PARTICIPANT TRAINING SCHEDULES TO BALANCE OPERATIONAL NEEDS. INCUMBENT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PREPARING AND MAINTAINING VARIOUS RECORDS ADDRESSING PARTICIPATION LEVELS AND OFFICE ACTIVITIES RELATED TO PURCHASING, EXPENSES, REPAIRS, AND ASSOCIATED ACTIVITIES. MAINTAINS THE ESTABLISHED RECORDS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM TO TRACK TRAINING REQUIREMENTS. COMMUNICATES INTER-FACILITY WITH DEPARTMENT HEADS, SUPERVISORS, OTHER FACILITY STAFF DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENTS AND CENTRAL OFFICE. ON OCCASION COMMUNICATES WITH COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS AND OTHER RESOURCES

Minimum Qualifications:

TWO YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN GENERAL OFFICE, CLERICAL OR ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT WORK. EDUCATION MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR EXPERIENCE AS DETERMINED RELEVANT BY THE AGENCY

Selection Process: Applicants selected for interview will be evaluated by an interview panel using performance/behavior based interview questions. The interview panel will make recommendations to the Warden for final approval. A second interview may be conducted. Applicants will be subject to background check and criminal history investigation; must pass a drug screen and a TB test unless promoting, transferring, or demoting from another safety sensitive position within the same agency; and possess a valid Driver’s License.
Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate Required: Each applicant (even non-residents) applying for a State of Kansas job vacancy must obtain a valid Kansas Certificate of Tax Clearance by accessing the Kansas Department of Revenue’s website. A Tax Clearance is a comprehensive tax account review to determine and ensure that an individual’s account is compliant with all primary Kansas Tax Laws. A Tax Clearance expires every 90 days.
