We are seeking a proactive customer focused Administrator with excellent relationship building skills who thrives in busy environments. You will play a pivotal role in the activities of the Centre, working with a remotely based team, and with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Key skills required in this role include:

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced complex administration environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, with ability to adapt and navigate new systems.
  • Excellent organisational, time management skills and an attention to detail.
  • An ongoing commitment to positive outcomes for our students, staff, and visitors.
  • Dedication to working in a culturally safe and respectful manner and demonstrates an understanding and appreciation of Te Ao Māori, Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, and Pasifika values.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE/TE MAHI

Join a diverse and committed team in this exciting role based at Ashburton Hospital within the newly established Centre for Rural Health. The Centre supports the Otago Medical School’s rural health teaching and research activities.

  • You will deliver administrative support to the Rural Medical Immersion Programme (RMIP) (5th Year students), the Rural Postgraduate programme and our RMIP Course Directors, who are academic staff based in Ashburton and regionally.
  • Although you will be based at Ashburton Hospital, you will support staff and students across the motu.
