This is an 18 Month Limited Term position reporting to the Associate Registrar, Admissions, the Admissions Advisor is responsible for reviewing applications and communicating admission decisions. They assist prospective applicants and current students in the application process.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years’ customer service experience.
- Effective cross cultural, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, record-keeping, and ability to maintain professionalism and courtesy in answering/delivering telephone messages.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with ability to modify duties when required.
- Ability to exercise good judgement within established guidelines and capable of working with frequent disturbances.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with Google Docs, is required with an aptitude to learn other software as required.
- Knowledge of post-secondary education systems, requirements, policies and the evaluation of credentials and admission documents would be considered an asset.
- Must be able to successfully pass a security clearance.

Responsibilities:
- Receive, process, and assess applications for admission for all undergraduate, and graduate programs.
- Review and assess high school credentials for preliminary entrance, and post- secondary transcripts for transfer credit.
- Review all applications for completeness, evaluate academic transcripts and calculate admissions GPAs.
- Conduct appropriate follow-ups for all related parts of the applicant record to encourage conversion.
- Advise prospective students and their parents/family on Concordia programs and services, and admissions requirements.
- Make appropriate recommendations for professional and/or graduate programs.
- Utilize online sources/tools to interpret international credentials, credits, and grades into Canadian equivalents.
- Scan and maintain electronic records.
- Advise students whose application has been rejected about available options to meet admission standards.
- Provide front desk coverage in Student and Enrollment Services.
- Advise current, and prospective applicants in person, via Google meetings and telephone.
- Liaise with Faculty in regard to student applications for competitive programs.
- Prepare Institutional Statistics that are used by various stakeholders at CUE.
- Provide training to new Admissions Advisors.
- Verify Study permits, and enter into Student Information System database
- Help organize and provide staffing for various recruitment events.
