JOB SUMMARY
Admissions Ambassadors provide an abundant amount of information and acquaint prospective students and guests with the campus, and present the positive spirit of Illinois State to all.
Admissions Ambassadors are the face of Illinois State University. They assist in the daily operations of the Admissions Front Desk/Reception Area, handle inbound and outbound calls, identify and address prospective student and family questions, staff the front desk reception area, data entry, and other office duties as assigned. Admissions Ambassadors are expected to learn and be knowledgeable about the admissions process and be able to answer questions ranging from general requirements to providing personal insight to prospective students about Illinois State University. Ambassadors are expected to provide excellent customer service at all times to guests, staff and faculty holding themselves to the highest standard, knowing that they are always the face of the University.
Admissions Ambassadors are required to attend all mandatory meetings and events including but not limited to: 7AM weekly meetings, a retreat at the beginning of each semester, and admissions events. These mandatory attendance dates are provided well in advance. The minimum commitment is two semesters, (fall and spring) with the option of working in the summer.

Personable, outgoing, articulate, responsible, able to multi-task and work within a team atmosphere. Strong leadership skills and the ability to work with a diverse population are critical for success in this position.
