Pay Rate / Range: Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience; the budget for the position; and the application of fair, equitable, and consistent pay practices at the University. The full salary range for this position is $25.77 to $43.58/hour. The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $25.77 to $30.05/hour.
Work Location: Phelps Hall, 2219
Working Days and Hours: M-F; 8:00am - 5:00pm. Some evening and weekend hours.

Type of Remote or Hybrid Work Arrangement: Eligibility for hybrid work after six months’ probation completion.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • 1-3 years of experience in academic advising and/or student support services in a higher education setting.
  • 1-3 years of experience working with a high level of detail and high degree of accuracy in the application of policies and procedures, review of documents, and data entry into multiple systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-3 years advising graduate students in a university setting.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of advanced advising and counseling techniques.
  • Ability to interpret, apply, and disseminate policy and procedure regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and project management skills.
  • Advanced data management and analysis skills.
  • Multicultural competencies and ability to communicate with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems.
  • Knowledge of Gaucho Blue, STAR, GOLD, eGrades, Canvas, Salesforce.
  • Strong understanding of UCSB policies regarding student services.

Responsibilities:

The Admissions and Student Affairs Coordinator assists with admissions, recruitment, student advising, student financial support, and student academic progress for the Master of Technology Management (MTM) graduate program. Under the general supervision of the MTM Executive Director, with additional guidance pro Student Affairs Manager, utilizing best practices for the unique needs of a professional master’s program, the Admissions and Student Affairs Coordinator works collaboratively with MTM team members, Technology Management Department faculty and staff, the UCSB Graduate Division, and other on- and off-campus partners to successfully recruit and support cohorts of 45-60 MTM graduate students. The Admissions and Student Affairs Coordinator enables the growth and strengthening of the MTM program by implementing recruitment strategies to increase the quantity, quality, and diversity of applicants and provides individualized student support throughout the entire admissions, enrollment, and program completion cycle.
