Navitas is seeking to employ an Admissions Counsellor, to join our Navitas North American team in Burnaby, BC. This position is On-Site.
Reporting to the Admissions Manager, the Admissions Counsellor will be part of the Admissions team that assess and process student applications, provide marketing support, and deliver excellent customer service for all our North American colleges.
This position is responsible for a range of admissions functions including, but not limited to, the processing and assessment of applications, extensive record keeping, distribution of admissions documents, and maintaining high quality relationships with applicants, agent network, and our Source Country Office teams.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Post-secondary education in business, education or a related field (or equivalent work experience) or related experience
  • Keen attention to detail, with an excellent level of continuous accuracy
  • Fully fluent in written and spoken English, with the ability to understand and follow complex written and oral instructions, and to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently within existing guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal communication skills and cultural sensitivity towards students and staff from a diverse range of backgrounds
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to accept and consider suggestions and resolve issues
  • Ability to work well within a team environment
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills, ex. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada

DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • Experience in admissions processing
  • Administrative experience in a post-secondary education environment

  • Fluency in a second language

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a customer-focused evaluation and assessment service to prospective students, agents, counsellors, and SCO staff on all aspects of entry pathways, policies and procedures, including the University partner’s admission requirements, policies, procedures
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of student information and records, liaising with the college and SCO staff to produce and maintain complete and accurate student admission and education records
  • Receive, enter, and process student applications in CRM system(s)
  • Use external evaluation tools as appropriate to assess applications accurately as well as use online verification sites to confirm the authenticity of provided transcripts/documentation
  • Prepare and dispatch Letters of Offer, Letters of Acceptance, and all admissions documentation, related to the issuance of offers, while meeting service delivery expectations
  • Support conversion activities as directed by Admissions Leadership Team
  • Manage inquiries and process correspondence in a timely and professional manner
  • Continuously look for ways to simplify and improve work processes to achieve better results and efficiency
  • Assist in the preparation of weekly reports on admissions issues and trends including recommendations for entry criteria and/or processing changes as requested
  • Maintain positive stakeholder engagement and contribute to the overall success of recruitment and enrolment targets across all Navitas North America BUs
