ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:
The Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University is seeking a part-time Admissions Office Assistant to support the JD Admissions Office. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience;
- Experience in a customer-facing administrative role;
- Knowledge of basic administrative processes;
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask;
- Proficiency with office software (Microsoft Office Suite);
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion; and
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree;
- Experience providing administrative support to a team;
- Experience in higher education, including internships, externships, part-time positions, or full-time positions; and
- Knowledge of law school processes and requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Provides in-office customer service to prospective students, applicants, admitted students, and other visitors;
- Answers and directs office phone calls;
- Assists with managing the generic email inboxes for the Admissions Office;
- Assists in the preparation and delivery of admissions events;
- Enters data into the admissions database;
- Prepares purchase orders;
- Purchases office supplies;
- Processes payment vouchers and invoices for the Associate Dean for Admissions;
- Maintains the Associate Dean for Admissions’ calendar, including coordinating and scheduling meetings;
- Creates and maintains related spreadsheets, databases, and reports; and
- Performs other duties as assigned.
