SUMMARY:
The Volunteer Recruiter is primarily responsible for contributing towards the recruitment of new volunteers and the identification and procurement of new volunteer opportunities in Bexar County through dedicated community and parish outreach. Volunteer Recruiter will maintain incoming volunteer data and follow documentation guidelines. Actively participate in process improvement plans as it pertains to volunteer and station recruitment, retention, recognition, and events.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education
- Associate’s and/or bachelor’s degree in social work, related social/health service field, communications or business-related field preferred
- High School Diploma/GED with relevant experience
- Experience
- In addition to a degree, a minimum of one-year experience working in social or health services, non-profit, or customer service
- Experience may be substituted for degree in which case person must have at least 2 years of experience working in social or health services, non-profit, or customer service and/or with vulnerable population.
- License and Credentials
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Reliable transportation
- Valid driver license
- Valid vehicle liability insurance
- Must have a clean driving record
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Volunteer management or appropriate related experience.
- Bilingual highly preferred.
- Experience with GivePulse database system preferred.
- Strong written, verbal, listening, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work without close supervision.
- Follow through to completion of assigned tasks.
- Must be flexible, self-directed, organized, and goal oriented.
- Must handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet multiple deadlines.
- Must handle pressure well; sensitivity to cultural diversity required.
- Reliable, personal transportation required, a clean driving record and current vehicle liability insurance.
- Experience with computer software and Microsoft Office programs (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher).
- Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team.
- Must have good written and verbal skills.
- Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Travel requirements for the position includes 97% local and 3% overnight.

Responsibilities:
- Actively meet or exceed recruitment goals for recruit volunteers over the age of 18 to assist the Adopt a Senior Program
- Attend assigned recruitment efforts such as going to parishes, universities, senior centers, and other places as directed
- Assist with the volunteer application process including criminal background check and volunteer training to maintain volunteer compliance with Catholic Charities policy and procedures
- Obtain training and utilize required online systems such as GivePulse as directed
- Facilitate or co-facilitate Volunteer Orientation
- Compile, maintain, and report on data related to volunteer commitment and services completed
- Incorporate retention strategies as needed by actively participate in planning and implementing volunteer recognition, i.e. thank you cards, awards and/or events
- Check emails and voice mails daily
- Work occasional evenings weekends to attend community outreach events for the program and or agency
- Ensure the volunteer experience is easy to access, meaningful to the volunteer, and productive for Catholic Charities programs.
- Other duties as assigned by administration, i.e. Senior Director, VP of Programs, and/or COO/CEO.
