QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Qualifications: One year of experience in planning, implementing, and monitoring activities relevant to the agency’s programs. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in Adobe, Microsoft Office Systems, and strong computer literacy. Highly organized with excellent customer service skills.

  • Security Clearance: A background check (KBI - criminal background, welfare fraud, driver’s license and Child/Adult Abuse and Neglect Central Registry) is required for all positions with the Department for Children and Families (DCF) as a condition of employment, which may include fingerprinting and FBI check. Security clearance must be obtained prior to employment with DCF. Must maintain security clearance throughout employment.

This position involves managing post-adoption requests and records, including reviewing and processing records and search requests for DCF staff, attorneys, and the public. The role supports strategic program planning, audits, and ensures compliance with legal standards. It involves retrieving adoption records from various sources and providing consultations on adoption laws and procedures. Additionally, the role maintains tracking systems for post-adoption requests, manages adoption keepsakes, and processes ICPC and private adoption documents. Communication is key, as the role handles inquiries from multiple stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Flexibility and support for the program’s evolving needs are essential, with the Program Manager overseeing and reviewing all duties for compliance and effectiveness.
