Responsibilities:
Assembly and Test Engineering Technicians are responsible for the manufacture, test, diagnosis, investigation, repair and modification of complex Radar, Avionics and underwater military products.
During this apprenticeship the Assembly and Test Engineering Technician will gain a detailed understanding of assembly techniques, electrical wiring, mechanical fitting, Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assembly and Microelectronics processing. Upon successful completion of the Assembly and Test Engineering Apprenticeship the apprentice will be able to perform complex assembly/disassembly or modification tasks to industry standards such as IPC and ANSIJ on electronic or mechanical components, subassemblies and systems – encompassing new build, repairs products or prototype products
The Assembly and Test Engineering Technician will undertake a range of different engineering activities aimed at developing the knowledge, skills and behaviours to meet the apprenticeship.
