Job Title: Advanced Apprentice Shipbuilding Design Engineer
Location: Glasgow
Salary: Starting from £22,463 with annual progression through the scheme duration.
WHAT QUALIFICATION WILL YOU GET?
SVQ 3 Diploma in Engineering at SCQF Level 7.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
4 National 5s Grade C or above (or equivalent) Maths, English, Science & Technical (excluding Application of Maths), plus, 3 Highers at Grade C or above in English, Maths & Science or technical subject (excluding Application of Maths)
Responsibilities:
This apprenticeship will enable you to gain experience in Design Engineering, on both current and future export contracts.
You will be trained to deliver the following:
- To use a 3D modelling/CAD Software to design ships structure, internal layouts as well as the ships pipework, electrical & ventilation systems.
- Produce and develop designs in line with specifications and all quality and technical standards, and carry out detail design appraisals in assigned areas to ensure all standards are maintained.
- Carry out investigations into operational problems or developments and develop and prepare solutions, either on your own or as a member of a team.
