Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Department of Histopathology at the SYB Pathology Royal Hallamshire Hospital site. We are looking to recruit an Advanced Biomedical Scientist Quality Lead.
As an integral part of the Histopathology Senior Team, you will have a key role in operating the framework for quality management across all sections of the laboratory.
The post will primarily be based at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield but as you play your part in transformation of the Histopathology service across South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw, you will eventually take the lead in quality for the network service.
The post holder will be expected to promote quality management principles across the discipline and constantly seek to improve the quality of every element of the service provided
Duties include;
- Day to day responsibility for the quality of the department and leading on monitoring of quality standards and performance to meet the requirements of UKAS.
- Maintain and manage the department audit calendar including review and closure of all audits and audit nonconformities.
- Ensure compliance with aspects of Health and Safety monitoring and Risk Assessments
- Ensure all data is recorded in line with departmental procedures and provide documentation and quality data as required for the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Ensure participation in correct EQA and inter-lab transfer scheme.
- Take responsibility for requests for histology material under litigation and document process accurately.
