About the role
- To provide advanced clinical and non-clinical assistance and support to Occupational Therapists, as delegated and supervised to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of patient care at Caboolture Hospital.
- Provide individual and group interventions as delegated by supervising Occupational Therapist
- This role involves working well within a multi-disciplinary team, utilising clear communication for delegation and feedback.
About you
The successful applicant will carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health’s values:
- Demonstrate advanced level competency in providing therapy programs and interventions performed independently or under supervision, as delegated by the treating Occupational Therapist.
- Obtain relevant patient information, including where appropriate the independent administration of screening tools.
- Assist in the manufacture, supply, maintenance and monitoring of equipment prescribed for patients, and provide patient education as relevant about safe usage of equipment.
- Work cooperatively and effectively within allied health departments, interdisciplinary health care teams and with patients/ carers to contribute to optimal service provision.
- Actively contribute to the multidisciplinary team through departmental and team meetings, projects and activities.
- Initiate and coordinate quality improvement activities with increasing ownership within scope of practice under guidance of Occupational Therapist.
- Lead and actively participate in relevant in-service programs and continuing education activities to develop knowledge and skills which will aid the enhancement of service delivery.
