ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Liverpool Hospital is actively seeking Advanced Clinical Coders who can contribute to their dynamic team.
With flexible work arrangements available, Liverpool Hospital offers an accommodating environment for skilled professionals. Currently, 80% of the contracted coding hours are open to staff who meet quality coding and throughput KPIs.
This opportunity emphasizes the importance of providing accurate coded data promptly.
Candidates should demonstrate the ability to organise their work efficiently and prioritise tasks to ensure completion within designated deadlines.
The role involves assisting with audits in a hybrid medical record environment, with experience across a broad spectrum of specialties and evidence of meeting KPIs for accuracy and throughput.
Successful candidates will be able to analyse highly complex medical record content and abstracting required clinical content relevant to the episode of care, adhering to ethical and professional standards of practice.
The role also requires precise assignment of diagnosis and procedure codes, as well as diagnosis-related groups, for intricate medical records, following the SWSLHD clinical coding competency guidelines.

Responsibilities:
The advanced level clinical coder is expected to undertake highly complex coding clinical coding and assist the clinical coding team to ensure coding reflects the complexity and accurately describes the hospital casemix. The position is expected to meet the requirements of the SWSLHD Clinical Coder Competency – Advanced Level.
