An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced pharmacist with a passion for education and training to join our friendly and enthusiastic pharmacy education and training team at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (STHFT).
We are looking for a dynamic and innovative pharmacist to develop, support and evaluate the co-ordination and delivery of high-quality education and professional development within the pharmacy department.
The post is split between education and training (0.6), and clinical duties (0.4)
The successful applicant will be a registered pharmacist with a postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy, or equivalent, and with proven experience in education and training. You will need excellent communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team. You will also need to be friendly, approachable, adaptable, willing to learn new skills and be committed to continuous professional development.
The education and training team are responsible for supporting and developing structured training for undergraduate pharmacy student placements, trainee pharmacists, foundation pharmacists and advanced practice pharmacists.
The postholder will also support recruitment and induction of foundation pharmacists. We have established links with the Universities of Bradford and Huddersfield and are working closely with the new School of Pharmacy at the University of Sheffield. We work collaboratively with NHS England Workforce, Training and Education and with the GPhC and RPS.
The post holder will contribute to clinical pharmacy provision within an agreed specialty area and the development of medicines management and optimisation throughout the patient care pathway.
The post holder will participate in the 1 in 5 weekend and bank holiday service within STHFT, and the late night (to 8pm) rota.
You will be working for an organisation which values and respects all of its staff and the community it serves. The Trust is a leader in the NHS and research sectors and provides excellent benefits for its staff. This includes commitments to professional development but also many policies to support employees in balancing their personal and professional lives.

You will be working for an organisation which values and respects all its staff and the community it services. The NHS offers a wide range of benefits including pension contributions, market leading annual leave allowance and career, not to mention our Blue Light Card and NHS exclusive discounts.
The trust will give you time to use your skills and help you develop a fulfilling career as well as a commitment to support flexible working and can support such things as, part time hours, condensed hours, or job share. These options are not exhaustive, and we would encourage candidates to state any forms of flexible working they would like to explore in their application.
