Role Description
Xylem is seeking a skilled and motivated Advanced Data Analytics Manager with strong analytical capabilities and solid technical expertise to support the Procurement department. The selected candidate will play a key role in optimizing decision-making processes, translating complex data into strategic insights, and developing advanced analytics tools to enhance business performance. The role will work closely with the Procurement Director Digitalization and Advanced Analytics, leading advanced analytics initiatives and contributing to the department’s digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Database Design and Management: Create and manage normalized databases by designing efficient data structures. Normalize data, create tables, and define complex relationships between tables to support analysis.
  • Advanced Analysis in Power BI: Structure Power BI data models optimally, with a clear separation between semantic models, measures, and final reports. Integrate data from multiple sources (relational databases, APIs, flat files, etc.) and combine them into cohesive and accurate reports. Build high-quality dashboards and reports that are visually appealing and designed to provide clear and actionable insights to stakeholders. Write advanced calculations using DAX and transform data using Power Query.
  • Report Finalization and Precision: Ensure all reports are accurate, optimized, and visually refined, adhering to professional standards in both design and content. Utilize charts, tables, and layouts to present complex data in a clear and comprehensible manner.
  • Business Understanding: Collaborate with Procurement teams to understand KPIs, analyze performance data, and propose strategic solutions. Show a strong willingness to learn and understand Procurement processes, contributing to better decision-making through targeted analytics solutions.
  • Collaboration with Teams: Work effectively with cross-functional teams, acting as a coordinator to gather requirements, develop solutions, and implement analyses. Foster communication and collaboration, ensuring project objectives are clear and shared.
  • Independence and Proactivity: Work autonomously, making strategic decisions without continuous supervision. Manage time, goals, and priorities efficiently.

Requirements

Technical Skills

  • SQL: Advanced Ability to write complex queries, optimize performance, and design databases.
  • Power BI: Advanced knowledge of DAX for creating complex calculations. Proficiency in Power Query for data transformation and manipulation. Ability to structure data models effectively, separating semantic models, measures, and final reports. Experience integrating data from diverse sources and creating comprehensive, accurate reports. Precision in designing reports and dashboards with attention to detail and professional design.
  • Database Design: Experience in data normalization, table creation, and relationship definition.

Business Skills
Willingness to learn and understand Procurement processes, with a strong curiosity to explore business dynamics. Basic knowledge of Procurement processes is a plus, but not a requirement.

Managerial Skills

  • Strong ability to collaborate with teams, acting as a coordinator and promoting a positive and productive working environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and independent approach to work, with the ability to manage time and goals autonomously.

Language Skills
Fluent English (written and spoken), sufficient to manage meetings and professional communications.
Education
A degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline. Additional certifications in SQL, Power BI, or Python are considered a plus.
