PROFILE SUMMARY:

We are looking for an Advanced Excel Modeler designs and develops complex financial and operational models using advanced Excel functionalities, including Power Pivot, complex formulas, and data validation, to provide insightful analysis and support strategic decision-making across the organization. This role requires data manipulation and visualization expertise and the ability to translate complex business requirements into robust, user-friendly Excel models. Can work with a team, including other data scientists, developers, and clients. English skills and being comfortable in front of clients are critical. It is essential to be fast and able to execute Excel formulas and pivot tables and comprehend fundamental data correlation.

MINIMUM 3-5 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED

• Model Development: Construct intricate financial models utilizing advanced Excel features like Power Pivot, creating dynamic calculations, forecasting scenarios, and sensitivity analysis to evaluate business risks and opportunities.
• Data Integration and Manipulation: Extract, clean, and transform data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and consistency within the Excel models. The company uses SQL for the data warehouse; the Excel modeler must be proficient in using external data sources, Power Query, VB, macros, and automation.
• Visual Data Presentation: Design clear and impactful data visualizations using charts, graphs, and dashboards to communicate insights to stakeholders effectively.
• Collaboration and Training: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into Excel models while also providing training on advanced Excel functionalities to colleagues.
• Model Maintenance and Optimization: Review and update models regularly to reflect changing business requirements, ensuring data integrity and efficiency. After some training, I was able to meet with clients and work weekly with customers.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Proficient in Advanced Excel Functions:Deep understanding of complex formulas beyond simple VLOOKUP, INDEX MATCH, SUMIFS, CUBEMAGIC), PivotTables, Power Pivot, data validation, conditional formatting, and macros.
• Data Analysis Skills: Ability to analyze large datasets, identify trends, and interpret results to inform decision-making.
• Business Acumen: Strong grasp of business principles and financial concepts to effectively model business scenarios.
• Communication Skills: Excellent ability to communicate complex analytical findings clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Capacity to identify issues within data and models, troubleshoot, and develop solutions.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
• Proven experience in developing and managing sophisticated Excel models for financial analysis, forecasting, or operational planning
• Experience with data extraction and manipulation tools (e.g., Power Query) is a plus
• Strong proficiency in data visualization techniques
• Experience in training and mentoring others on advanced Excel skills
