Description:
The Oakes Volunteer Ambulance Service is seeking advanced level EMS provider(s) (Paramedic, RN, or
RN/EMT) to become a part of our team and community. We are a progressive rural ambulance service
in southeast North Dakota that responds to 400 calls for service each year. Our ambulance service is an essential
piece of a progressive health network that includes a critical access hospital, two clinics, nursing home, fire
department, and many other health related services. With a population of 1800 Oakes is a great community to live
in, raise a family, and work.
Oakes Ambulance is staffed with full-time Paramedics, part-time staff, and volunteers (paid). Our training facility was
built in 2005 and our vehicle fleet includes 2 Horton trucks and 1 Sprinter. With liberal standing orders our
progressive service strives to seek out the latest and best equipment available. Some of which includes; Zoll X Series
Monitors, Zoll Auto Pulses, LUCAS Devices, Stryker Power Load Systems, EZ-IO’s, Autovents, Doppler, Video
Laryngoscopes, and CAD. We are also designated as an AHA Community Training Center and provide a considerable
amount of training for SE ND.
JOB SUMMARY:
To provide appropriate, efficient and timely pre-hospital advanced life support and transportation of the sick and
injured in accordance with local, state, national and Oakes Ambulance standards of practice.
The full-time position has flexible rotating shift requirements of 72 hours on duty followed by 6 days off. Office
duties, education, and other assigned tasks can be completed while on duty or during scheduled off time.
Competitive salary of $48,000 to $55,000 yearly will be determined based on experience and current qualifications.
Health insurance, ND PERS retirement, vacation and sick leave, and supplemental policies (dental and vision) are
offered.
The part-time and PRN staff positions will fill the schedule as-needed with the flexibility to work either 12, 24, or
longer shifts as they desire. These positions do not include health insurance or retirement benefit package. The
wages per shift are competitive and based on years of experience and current qualifications.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid state driver’s license
- Current NREMT certification as a Paramedic with ability to license at this level in the state of North Dakota
- Basic Life Support CPR
- Advanced cardiac training, such as ACLS and PALS
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current North Dakota Department of Health – DEMS Paramedic license
- Certified EMS Instructor
- Basic Life Support Instructor
- Reside in the Oakes, ND area
