Description:

There is an exciting opportunity within our newly established and developing Children in Care team. Grounded in a strengths-based, trauma informed approach, the team strive to embed positive partnerships with key adults and networks to improve the outcomes for young people in care.
Under the supervision of an experienced clinical psychologist, you will provide tailored, needs-led support based on psychologically informed formulations and systemically delivered interventions.
You’ll work with young people, families, local authorities and partner agencies online and in person to understand and respond to the unique needs of young people in care. Therefore, previous experience of working with children and young people with mental health difficulties and complex needs is essential.
This flexible, part time and permanent role is based at our Wokingham office, with some work in the community. Working hours are 22.5 hours per week between 09:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday.
As a service we are very committed to the development of our staff and can offer both internal & external training and development opportunities with this role.
Consultation - offering advice, information and support to young people, carers, and professionals
Providing Training to carers and professionals
Clinical assessments for young people.
High and low intensity, evidence-based therapeutic interventions (individual, group, family, as appropriate)
Joint working with partner agencies, including Mental Health Support Teams, Early Help, Youth Offending Teams, other Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services
Use of routine outcome measures to promote active participation from young people and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions
Supervision, as appropriate to role

Responsibilities:

  1. A recognised and relevant qualification in relevant core profession e.g. Registered Social Worker, Registered Mental Health Nurse, OT, SLT, Qualified Family Therapist, Psychotherapist or Psychologist.
  2. Registration with the relevant recognised professional body, e.g.: Social Work England, NMC, HCPC.
  3. Experience of working with young people with mental health difficulties and complex needs.
  4. Ability to travel between multiple sites.
