Description:

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist who has both clinical and leadership experience within oncology and haemato-oncology. You will lead and operationally manage a team of pharmacists, technicians and support staff offering a clinical service to the haematology/oncology day unit, and liaising with the clinical trials and aseptic teams.
You will ideally have project management or service improvement experience to help move forward the pharmacy agenda within the Trust’s cancer strategy. You will have excellent communication, organisational and time management skills and can demonstrate a high level of attention to detail. We are keen to develop a pharmacist prescriber role within our oncology outpatient clinics and so a non-medical prescriber qualification would be desirable.
The post is full time (37.5 hours a week) with weekend and bank holiday working as part of a department-wide rota. The post will primarily be based at Hinchingbrooke Hospital although you may be required to travel to other sites within North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust.
This post will receive a £1000 Welcome Bonus, payable in one instalment upon commencement, subject to terms and conditions.
You will play a key role in the development and delivery of safe, high quality and cost-effective Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) and PN clinical services that deliver key pharmacy service and national benchmark standards for the care of patients on the site.
Working collaboratively with the lead oncology, haematology and clinical staff, you will be leading the development of clinical pharmacy services for SACT and PN on the site and through homecare.
You will make a significant contribution to the delivery of corporate, divisional and departmental operational and strategic priorities and to the modernisation of pharmacy services across the Trust.
As a team leader, you will actively report site service delivery into the departmental senior management meetings and deputise for the Principal Pharmacist SACT, PN and Manufacturing at departmental, Divisional and Trust meetings as required.
For more information on the role or to arrange an informal visit, please contact Laura Simon, Principal Pharmacist - SACT, PN & Manufacturing at laura.simon@nhs.net.
We are dedicated to fostering diversity and inclusivity within our workforce and warmly welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds, with a particular emphasis on encouraging those from disabled, Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities, as well as candidates from our local area.
As part of our commitment to supporting our employees we offer a range of benefits including:
Generous annual leave entitlement starting at 27 days and increasing to 29 days after five years of service and 33 days after 10 years of service, in addition to the national Bank Holidays (pro-rata for part time staff);

MEMBERSHIP OF THE NHS PENSION SCHEME:

Flexible working opportunities;
Enhanced hourly rates for unsociable hours e.g. night shifts, weekends, bank holidays;
Opportunities for career development and training to help you progress in your role;
Wellbeing support and activities to promote a healthy work environment;
Access to our in-house physiotherapy service;
On-site canteens offering subsidised meals;
Subsidised staff parking (currently free);
