Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES

Ascension Seton is looking for a FT CNM, Women’s Services, OB Triage, to join our elite team!
As an CNM in Women’s Services/OB Triage with Ascension, you will see and evaluate patients in the OB Triage setting for things to include: labor, preterm labor, rupture of membranes or any complications of pregnancy over 20 weeks gestation, illness, injury etc. You will be in charge of triaging patients based on acuity and greatest need and will be supported by the on-call physician for the patients’ private practice or the team of OB residents. The goal of this service is to be able to identify in a timely manner if a patient needs hospital admission or discharge to home without occupying Labor and Antepartum rooms on the floor. You will also cover postpartum rounding and help to manage induction/labor patients on the labor floor. You will also be a part of teaching the Dell Seton interns how to adequately triage a patient, quickly and efficiently as one of their first year resident education goals. You will also assist in teaching interns how to deliver laboring patients. You will cross train to assist in Cesarean Sections with the private OB/Gyn physicians.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops a comprehensive plan of care and discharge plan based on the assessment and integration of the medical plan.
  • Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
  • Provides education/counseling to patient and patient’s family with respect to pregnancy, childbirth, care of the newborn, contraception, family planning and gynecological care.
  • Provides care in the context of promoting age and culture-appropriate informed choices, shared decision-making and the right to self-determination.
