Responsibilities:
Ascension Medical Group is looking for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our Cardiology Department.
Looking for an energetic NP/PA to join our dynamic General Cardiology team to provide comprehensive inpatient care to critically and chronically ill patient populations that include Coronary artery disease/NSTEMI/STEMI, valvular heart disease, congestive heart failure, hypertension, Rhythm disturbances and inflammatory heart conditions, We work in a multidisciplinary, collaborative way to provide world class patient centered care.
- In this role, the APP will utilize comprehensive assessment skills and knowledge of clinical therapeutics to evaluate, diagnose, manage and treat patients in the inpatient setting.
- Must be able to make modifications to the plan of care as necessary while also identifying psychosocial and educational needs of the patient and family.
- The APP will be responsible for admissions, consults and discharges and must be able to perform detailed histories and physicals.
- The clinician must be able to interpret multiple sources of data to make clinical judgments and develop a plan of care for the patient under the direction of the Cardiology Physicians and determine the effectiveness of the plan of care.
- Be able to prescribe appropriate guideline directed medical therapy.
- Participates in multidisciplinary rounds.
- Provide education to patients and families.
