Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) currently has an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Product Planning Strategist to join our Product Planning department. This is a full-time opportunity and will report to the Manager of Advanced Product Strategy. This role is at the forefront of transforming Toyota and Lexus vehicle lineups to meet the evolving needs of the Canadian market. What You’ll be Doing:

  • Collaborate with the Advanced Product Strategy (APS) Manager to identify product and powertrain needs that will meet the voice of the Canadian customer and Toyota Canada’s long-term goals, ensuring alignment across our affiliates
  • Evaluate all new series introduction opportunities for Toyota Canada to determine the fit in the portfolio along with the volume capability and ability to support compliance requirements
  • Study and propose a forecast of powertrains intent/demand across Canada to directly support the volume planning of vehicles and compliance requirements
  • Lead Toyota Canada to achieve the Mid Term Product Plan (MTPP) milestone in partnership with Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) & Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC)
  • Support the Compliance Consultant regarding the future outlook planning for ZEV, GHG and Tailpipe compliance regulations
  • Support the Sales Planning team through the Annual Planning and Mid Term Business Planning (MTBP) milestones through the provision of product portfolio and powertrain strategy
  • Maintain the strong partnership with TMNA’s APS and Enterprise Strategy (ES) teams to allow for Toyota and Lexus in North America to continue to advance
  • Build upon the very strong foundation of collaboration with Product Planning, Sales Planning, Lexus Division and Toyota Division

What You’ll Bring:

  • University degree in Business, Management, or Engineering
  • 6+ years of automotive experience, with strategic and product management experience preferred
  • Experience in Product Planning and/or Sales and Inventory Planning are an asset
  • Demonstrated “storytelling” skills, with the ability to distill complicated issues into easy-to-understand proposals for audiences up to the Executive team
  • Strong ability to take qualitative and quantitative insights and analyze them to develop a strategic path forward
  • Skillful in influencing, negotiating, and consensus-building
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Willing to travel within North America & to Japan
  • Valid Driver’s License
