Description:
ADVANCED PUBLIC HEALTH OFFICER (HEALTH IMPROVEMENT) – 1 WTE
Norfolk County Council are looking for four highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals with a passion for improving public health to join our Public Health Prevention team. The Advanced Public Health Officer role will appeal to applicants with a rich understanding of policy and action to improve people’s health and wellbeing that are able to transfer their skills and knowledge to these exciting opportunities.
We want the people of Norfolk to be able to live in healthy places, promote healthy lifestyles and preventing ill-health. As an Advanced Public Health Officer, you will provide specialist public health expertise and knowledge in both the development of strategy and policy aligned to one of these specialist areas.
You will ensure that public health work focus’ on interdependent outcomes and a holistic approach to improving health. With a degree level qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant area, you will have a working knowledge of current policies and strategies relating to public health and experience in primary prevention, health strategy, health protection, commissioning, or project and performance management.
The postholder will deliver high quality programmes of work, including evidence briefings and reports, projects and partnerships working, to contribute to the objectives of the team.
We are looking for someone who can articulate what action can improve resident and community wellbeing and is able to outline the path that to ensure we and our partners can address issues and remove barriers.
You will be confident in working with people from across sectors, delivering presentations and project outcomes to senior officers, and working with community leaders and experts by experience to ensure that action is relevant and effective.
You will have a structured approach to achieving the vision of the team, and able to collaborate with others to get there. Clear sightedness and ability to manage and disseminate complex information to a broad audience, as well as turn strategy into action are key skills that are required or can be developed in this exciting role.
