  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years in quality/manufacturing engineering or like role (program management, supplier development, etc.)
  • Trained and proficient in various technical problem solving methodologies, preferably Shainin Red X, Six Sigma, etc.
  • Demonstrated success in leading technical problem solving projects and cross-functional teams
  • Extensive knowledge of PPAP levels, deliverables, and expectations
  • Demonstrated application of AIAG APQP core tools (FMEA, controls plans, MSA, etc.)
  • Experience with customer/supplier relationship management
  • Experience with automotive program management principles and quality-related deliverables
  • Proficient knowledge in GD&T and understanding engineering drawing

Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE

Dana is seeking to hire a self-directed, motivated individual who is interested in improving our product to launch.
This role will be focused on the implementation and adherance to Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes and standards for key program launches, and support the resolution of key issues and challenges throughout the product development process, using their technical problem solving skills.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the implementation and administration of Advanced Quality processes that assure the introduction of products that fully meet organizational goals, stated customer requirements, and warranty performance goals
  • Execute disciplined Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes and validation of our products & processes with cross-functional program teams
  • Lead technical problem solving and escalation activities throughout the program development phases, utilizing problem solving methodologies (Red X, Six Sigma, etc.) or core quality tools (8D, Ishikawa, 5 Why, etc.)
  • Ensure the Voice of the Customer is clearly understood, translated into requirements, technical specifications, special characteristics, and process-controls
  • Assume primary customer contact position for all quality-related items, lead customer visits and reviews on program quality status
  • Lead internal Advanced Quality program reviews and resolution of any quality-related items impacting the program
  • Support program teams to ensure all quality deliverables will satisfy internal and customer requirements and timing plans, working within the Stage gate requirements.
  • Participate in all aspects of product development and launch activities throughout the organization to help ensure quality goals are met on new development programs (prototype to production phases), and works with the teams to ensure DFM principles are followed, supporting product engineering and GME during trial stages.
  • Provide direction, analysis, and recommendations for corrective actions for nonconformities and/or design problems for internally or externally produced products & processes
  • Ensure adequate action taken for test findings, customer quality, or field quality concerns at every stage of the product development process
  • Support successful program launch and PPAP submission with quality assurance staff at production facility through knowledge transfer, training, and Safe Launch execution
  • Adhere to change management principles and ensure all changes are documented and any required process changes/updates/training/customer requirements are completed
