To join the firmware engineering team, developing firmware for complex real-time embedded Fire Alarm panel applications globally.
Position: Firmware / Embedded Software Engineer (m/w/d, temporary 2 years)
Principal Responsibilities: An experienced firmware engineer who can demonstrate his/her ability to develop systems from initial requirements capture through analysis, design, implementation and test.
- Participates in the complete development life cycle from requirements through to implementation
- Designs, develops and enhances complex systems for various embedded software & hardware platforms
- Creates models and assesses and presents alternative approaches
- Captures customer, organizational, and business requirements and integrates these needs into software and system
- Analyzes current programs including performance, diagnosis and troubleshooting of problem programs, designs solutions
- Identifies and addresses changes and updates of products and processes
- Possesses in-depth knowledge of product standards and development processes
- Participates in R&D Scrum Teams and in high level and cross-functional Honeywell teams
- Creates tests and tests programs to ensure that results are accurate
- Involves and coordinates external providers in an efficient and cost effective manner
- Involves and coordinates Honeywell R&D Resources in other Honeywell design centers.
CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE:
- MS degree in Computer Science, IT, Electrical Engineering or closely related field
- Minimum 10 years of industry experience in embedded software development preferably for fire alarm systems. Experience in agile software development, especially scrum
- Deep knowledge of ESSER brand field busses
o FlexEsCom (panel, loop-master, field devices)
o ESSER Bus (panel, loop-master, field devices)
o EMA Bus (panel, loop-master, field devices)
- Expert knowledge of computer languages C++, C, QT and operating system Linux
- Experience in Industrial Fire Applications
- Expert knowledge of computer program design/architect methods and techniques, using UML
- Background in requirement-management, documentation tools, test strategies and distributed systems
- Experience with application lifecycle management and CMMI
- Knowledge of product specific standards (EN54-2)
- 6-Sigma certification desirable
- Fully conversant with modern firmware development techniques and used to working in an ISO9000 quality environment.
