Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert level technical knowledge and skills contributing to the development and implementation of radiolabelling and quality control methodologies for radiopharmaceuticals for use in humans, both in clinical and research applications.
  • Participate in a roster of manufacture and quality control for radiopharmaceuticals to support clinical requests of a State-wide service and relevant stakeholders.
  • Contribute to radiopharmaceutical capacity and service improvement by supporting Nuclear Medicine collaborations and participation in research programs.
  • Assist with other duties and projects as directed by the Principal Radiochemist.

Clinical practice

  • Provide specialised practical skills to develop radiolabelling methodologies and/or quality control testing for radiopharmaceuticals to drive outcomes for Q-TRaCE, particularly increasing collaborative research programs.
  • Provide independent advice to colleagues, management and relevant stakeholders, with a view to improving and developing the clinical services provided by QLD Health in both imaging and radionuclide therapy.

Team participation/ communication

  • Be an excellent team player by working productively and collegially with other laboratory and Department staff.
  • Provide specialised advice on radiopharmaceutical science to stakeholders in matters relating to improvement and/or development of molecular imaging and radionuclide therapy throughout QLD.

Leadership/ work unit management

  • Contribute and advocate for the radiochemistry team in the development of professional standards and technical competencies in radiopharmaceutical science on a State-wide basis.
  • Advocate for radiopharmaceutical science strategic planning and influence the development of State-wide services in collaboration with national professional bodies.
