Are you an looking for a new challenge as an Advanced Social Worker in our Emergency Duty Team? Then come and join our teams at the Integrated Front Door of Hull Children, Young People and Family Services.
It is important to us that Hull is a great place to be a child and grow up; a place of opportunity where young people can live happy and productive lives and a place where young people will want to live and work in the future.
At Hull City Council we are committed to our children and young people, and we are passionate about how we deliver services to them. That’s why we nurture a culture that puts our children and young people at the heart of everything we do - by empowering our workforce to work together to find solutions, to be open, honest, and respectful, to take responsibility and listen and learn from others.
Ofsted has confirmed that Social Workers enjoy working in Hull: they feel valued, good work is celebrated, and Social Workers feel part of the service. The retention and learning and development offers are well received.
We are looking for 1 Full Time, Advanced Social Worker to join our permanent staff team in EDT, in the Integrated Front Door service where you will be supported by our EHASH/EDT Leadership team. We are looking for committed, motivated and child focussed individual who wants to join our service and help us deliver excellent, high-quality and responsive services. You will be an experienced Social Worker in children’s safeguarding work, with excellent knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, policy, and guidance in this area. The ability and the confidence to work autonomously and with sound effective decision making to meet our children’s needs in a timely way, ensuring that the best outcomes are achieved is key. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with children, young people and families in crisis is essential. Partnership working is key to the post, working jointly with both internal teams and external agencies to ensure children who we are most worried about receive the right support at the right time. Children’s needs must always be at the heart of your practice.
You’ll need a degree or diploma in Social Work, Full Social Work England registration and a proven ability to work in partnership with children, young people, parents, carers, and partners.
It is desirable that you are trained and have experience in Achieving Best Evidence, but training will be provided if required.
We are keen to recruit those who have successful experience in a similar role or are ready to take the next step in their social work career.
All Advanced Social Workers benefit from having the cost of their Social Work England registration paid and for those working within our Children Looked After Teams there is also a retention payment available.
