JOB PURPOSE

To support the Senior Adviser, Public Affairs and Mayoral Director, Global Relations and Communities to provide high level support and advice to the Mayor’s Office regarding key, influential community stakeholders.
To represent the Mayor, and his priorities, to both internal and external stakeholders.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Responsible for day-to-day engagement with Mayor’s Office community and faith stakeholders and their organisations, acting in an ambassadorial role on behalf of the Mayor.
Responsible for implementing a programme of engagement to effectively communicate the Mayor’s agenda to key community and faith stakeholders, and identify opportunities to partner and take action on issues that matter to them.
Coordinate a programme of meetings - with London communities to facilitate direct communication with the Mayor’s Office
Provide advice, briefings and reports to the Mayor and senior Mayor’s office staff on community and faith engagement in relation to specific areas of Mayoral policy.
Conduct in-depth research of key community and faith stakeholders and create stakeholder plans to ensure the development of relationships is valued across the GLA.
Monitor the activities of key community and faith stakeholders and ensure that insight from research and engagement is used to improve the Mayor’s policy and programmes.
Deputise for the Senior Adviser, Public Affairs where necessary and take on other stakeholder relations duties as required.
Manage staff and resources allocated to the job in accordance with the Authority’s policies and Code of Ethic and Standards.
