Description:

As a data governance advisor, you help define and implement data management processes, allowing optimal and secure use of data for the benefit of members and clients, with compliance rules, privacy, privacy policies and security in mind. You assist teams by helping them recognize and manage data as a strategic asset. You assist dedicated clients with various initiatives and efforts to develop data governance practices that are adapted to business needs. You prepare recommendations about data use and compliance with governance documents that apply to data, that are adapted to the teams’ various needs and the organization’s objectives. Your projects and initiatives require extensive knowledge of your line of work. You serve as a data governance resource person for various stakeholders. You interact with stakeholders working in other fields to understand needs, and present and explain proposed solutions. More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Advise data producers and users to help them better understand how to valorize data for the benefit of members and clients, in keeping with sound data governance
  • Advise and train teams on how to apply data management processes and controls properly
  • Develop and maintain data governance logs, tools and dashboards
  • Identify the sector’s data governance needs and opportunities
  • Help teams analyze risks and potential gaps between what is set out in the governance documents and their operational practices
  • Develop and implement practices and mechanisms to ensure compliance with the governance documents that apply to data
  • Measure and monitor the performance of the standards and the practices in place, including changes in data governance maturity
  • Carry out projects related to the development of data governance

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience
  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Knowledge of French is required
