EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1-3 years of safety risk management experience
- Aviation experience considered an asset
- Completed a Project Manager Professional (PMP) designation (asset)
- Leadership experience
- Experience and ease in working with MS Suite specifically Teams, Excel, SharePoint Lists, Power BI dashboards
- Excellent relationship management skills, ability to manage a diverse range of project deliverables
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to convey complex strategies and plans
- Comfortable and confident with online and in-person interactions
- Excellent team player, collaborative, passionate, enthusiastic
Responsibilities:
*THIS IS A 10 MONTHS TEMPORARY ROLE *
The Advisor will collaborate with various teams and stakeholders to identify, investigate, and resolve systemic safety issues. This involves evaluating safety data and organizational processes to enhance employee health, safety, and efficiency. The role requires managing complex initiatives, including facilitating and mediating between cross-departmental business units and affected leadership, to achieve agreed-upon outcomes.
KEY DELIVERABLES/RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Evaluate the effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities in company safety programs and procedures through thorough investigation and analysis.
- Support the monthly Safety Management Committee and quarterly Board Health & Safety Committee meetings, ensuring forward scheduling of all related tasks and meetings. Work with related parties to review and consolidate presentations, run the presentations during the meetings, and record / follow up on action registers.
- Oversee complex projects involving multiple business units, ensuring all actions meet high standards and adhere to established timelines and budgets.
- Conduct comprehensive safety risk assessments across multiple business units, facilitating the development of robust corrective action plans to mitigate identified risks.
- Ensure projects and tasks meet required deliverables on schedule and within budget constraints. Provide regular progress reports, outcomes, and risk assessments to project sponsors, escalating issues as necessary.
- Perform thorough reviews following project implementations to confirm objectives have been achieved and address any unforeseen outcomes promptly and effectively.Design and implement strategies and programs to promote safety within the WestJet Group and with contracted partners, enhancing Safety Management System (SMS) performance by increasing safety awareness, promoting behavioral changes, and fostering a positive safety culture.
