Description:

We have an amazing opportunity for a full-time People & Culture Advisor to join the Shared Services Team reporting to the General Manager Operations - P&C. This opening comes as our current Advisor steps into a more senior role within the team, highlighting our commitment to recognising and investing in talent from within.
The successful candidate will cover a broad range of People & Culture related activities relating to our corporate, hospitality, and events portfolios, providing customer-focused, pragmatic, and timely P&C advice and support.

As well as running elite horse racing at Caulfield, Sportsbet Sandown and Mornington Racecourses, we own 15 pub venues under the Pegasus Leisure Group (PLG).

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 1.5 years in an HR Advisory role or similar position.
  • Tertiary qualification in P&C or related field (desirable).
  • Experience confidently managing end-to-end recruitment processes for both casual and permanent positions.
  • Experience coordinating administrative employee lifecycle paperwork.
  • Exceptional efficiency and accuracy of P&C administrative duties and tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Great time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Interest in P&C system and process improvements, operating with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient using the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel (beginner to intermediate level at minimum).

Responsibilities:

  • Provide P&C advice and support to staff on a range of matters such as policies, industrial agreements, and awards.
  • Monitor and respond to general P&C queries and provide appropriate advice.
  • Coordinate the end-to-end recruitment and selection process in accordance with recruitment policies and practices, such as advertisement drafting, position description reviews or creation, candidate screening, interviewing, offer negotiation, probity checks, contract variation, etc.
  • Coordinate administration processes for employee lifecycle milestones and events, including but not limited to probation reviews, parental leave arrangements, fixed-term contracts, and supporting performance review processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant forms of employment legislation & probity requirements.
  • Assist in the implementation of P&C initiatives and strategies.
