Description:

Bring your passion for policy to this exciting role where you will:

  • Support the development and implementation of disaster recovery and resilience policy that aligns with national and international policy and emerging trends.
  • Provide accurate and timely advice to the Manager and Director, and key stakeholders on strategic policy in relation to resilience, risk reduction, and recovery policy.
  • Liaise with, provide advice and respond appropriately to internal and external stakeholders on matters that relate to resilience and recovery policy objectives.
  • Provide project support across resilience, risk reduction, and funding programs to ensure project milestones are achieved.
  • Undertake research, environmental scanning and analysis on cross-jurisdictional, national and international approaches to disaster recovery, resilience, risk reduction issues, seeking to identify emerging trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the preparation of complex reports, submissions, briefing notes, legislation, presentations, speeches, publications and correspondence.
  • Prepare timely and accurate briefings for executive leadership, partner agencies and state and national committees.
  • Participate in meetings, committees and interdepartmental working groups, as required.
  • Undertake related and other duties of equivalent complexity as required.
