THE OPPORTUNITY

ASIO is seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Director to join the Network Services Directorate leadership team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading and enabling a team of technical officers in the development and sustainment of mission-critical technical capabilities across Enterprise Networking and Unified Communications. This role is critical in delivering on strategic initiatives, supporting the deployment of next-generation networking capabilities and positioning the organisation to meet future requirements.

A merit pool may be created to fill future vacancies which have the same or similar requirements to this position. This merit pool will be valid for up to 18 months.
This role may attract an additional technical skills allowance of up to 10% of base salary.

Responsibilities:

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leadership and Team Management: Provide leadership and support to technical officers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. Coordinate the delivery of Network Services projects in partnership with the Directorate’s senior officers.
  • Project Management: Identify, manage, and coordinate work packages on a day-to-day basis, allocating technical resources to meet business needs in a timely manner.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with all levels across the Organisation, the National Intelligence Community, and international partners to deliver strategically important projects.
  • Procurement and Contract Management: Provide support to the Directorate’s procurement and contract management activities through engagement with internal stakeholders and industry partners.
  • Project Planning and Development: Contribute to the development of project submissions, including planning resources, schedules, and budgets.

  • An Australian citizen.
  • Assessed as suitable to hold and maintain a TOP SECRET-Privileged Access security clearance
