POSITION OVERVIEW:
As an Embedded Linux Software Engineer, you will design, implement, document, and maintain software for advanced avionics systems. Reporting to the Software Engineering Manager and working closely with a Lead Engineer, you’ll play a key role in developing solutions for multi-processor systems that enable satellite, cellular, and Wi-Fi communication.
This role is based in Ottawa, Ontario.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in software development, particularly in C/C++.
- Proficiency with Linux in an embedded environment.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Familiarity with tools like Docker, JIRA, Confluence, and Git.
- Experience with wireless protocols such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or mesh networks.
- Knowledge of device driver development and interfaces (e.g., I2C, SPI, Ethernet, USB).
- Understanding of ARM processor architectures and board support package development.
- Background in satellite communications or aerospace standards is a plus.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain Embedded Linux services interfacing with avionics and ground systems.
- Collaborate with engineers to design and implement software for complex communication systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during development and testing phases.
- Author documentation, including requirements, designs, and automated tests.
- Monitor and report progress against project milestones and deliverables.
