KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Experience performing integration and assembly including advising engineering and program management on preferred methods and techniques.
- Experience working under J-STD Space addendum and/or NASA requirements.
- Basic ability in the utilization of computer software such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience collaborating in a multi-disciplined team to solve complex problems.
- Proven communication/interpersonal skills, self-motivated, and ability to be a strong team player.
- Ability to be obtain a security clearance is preferred, but not required.
- 100% onsite work at Fairfax or Chantilly location

Responsibilities:
- High level of competency in soldering and reworking printed circuit assemblies.
- Assemble electrical and mechanical items in accordance with engineering instructions, technical manuals, and knowledge of electronic systems and components.
- Aptitude to mentor and train junior technicians and share experience/knowledge.
- Ability to use small hand tools (tweezers, pliers, screwdrivers) and work while utilizing a micro-scope.
- Competence in following work orders, manufacturing travelers, production drawings, sample assemblies, and verbal instructions.
- Perform, bonding, staking, and minor conformal coating applications.
- Perform peer inspections and work validation of teammate assemblies and rework.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, engineering drawings, specifications, manuals, and plans.
- Perform wiring harness and cable assembly, including continuity checks on the final assemblies.
- Follows documented processes and procedures that protect hardware through the design, testing, assembly, and shipping stages, ensuring all internal and industry standards are being met.
- Communicate work status, challenges, and areas of improvement in both oral and written form with Supervisor/ Manager.
- Candidate must have a willingness to perform other tasks as assigned.
- Apply technical standards J-STD-001 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 to work performed ensuring manufactured hardware complies
