JOB DESCRIPTION
As part of the Africa Talent team, you will work virtually and hybrid with global colleagues from different offices, such as Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Utrecht.
Responsibilities include:
- supporting clients in navigating through the evolving landscape of legislation and frameworks on sustainability an integrated reporting (e.g. CSRD, EU Taxonomy, SFDR, IFRS, TCFD, TNFD etc.);
- assisting clients in developing a compliant, yet value-driven reporting framework (i.e. conducting CSRD gap assessments, double materiality assessments, developing KPIs, obtaining and improving ESG ratings);
- being involved in developing the structure and content of sustainability reports and policies;
- reviewing sustainability disclosures and ensuring they meet all legal requirements;
- contributing to future development of the practice, including the preparation of the proposals, thought leadership articles and industry events;
- participating in discussions with senior team members and developing supporting materials to facilitate through the project phases;
- contributing to external and internal meetings with professional and structured overviews (e.g. email, PowerPoint decks, Excel factsheets etc.).
Qualifications

With your personal strengths, view of the world and unique personality. You need the following qualifications for the position of Consultant (Africa Talent by Deloitte – ESG Reporting):
- an (almost) completed (WO) Master degree in Sustainability, (Climate) Risk Management, Environmental Engineering, Economics, Audit, Finance, Business Administration or a related field;
- special interest in sustainability which is reflected in your choice of study, internship, work experience, (student) associations or in personal projects/businesses;
- at least 1 year of work experience in the field of Sustainability Reporting / ESG Assurance or a related service line;
- characteristics such as analytical, independent, entrepreneurial and result-oriented describe you well;
- good understanding of sustainability regulations (e.g. CSRD, EU Taxonomy, SFDR, EU Green Bond Framework) and ESG-related standards and frameworks (e.g. GHG Protocol, IFRS (SASB), GRI, and TCFD);
- experience in managing multiple priorities and deliver commitments on time;
- interest in policy related work, such as applying standards, procedures and processes to comply to regulatory requirements;
- experience in preparing and writing ESG reports and policies;
- excellent written and oral communication skills in English (ability to understand / willingness to learn Dutch is beneficial);
- a proactive attitude and ability to be flexible;
- you operate well in a team and while working remotely.
