Description:

Your role at St John of God Warrnambool Hospital
You will be responsible for the overall supervision of the hospital and caregivers out of accepted business hours.
The After Hours Coordinator will act as an integral member of the multidisciplinary health care team to ensure that all patients and their visitors at St John of God Warrnambool Hospital receive optimal care.

The Position

  • Demonstrates attention to the needs of the client to privacy, dignity and the maintenance of confidentiality.
  • Accepts responsibility for direct patient care as required, supervision of patient assessment and supervision of nursing documentation ensuring that nursing interventions and the associated patient responses are recorded in the patient notes.
  • Routinely assess the workload of individual units providing adequate staffing levels as necessary.
  • Ensures that a holistic approach is utilised for patient education and discharge planning, and that the participation of both patient and family in their multi-disciplinary care is facilitated.
  • Participates in emergency procedures and takes immediate action to ensure appropriate authorities are notified.
  • Accepts responsibility for communicating patient needs for team handovers for all patients, collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to develop a problem solving approach to patient care which provides optimum outcomes.
  • Provides supervision of Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and Patient Care Assistant in the clinical ward.

You will have a current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and demonstrate experience in advanced life support/pediatric life or a willingness to undertake an education program, as prescribed by the hospital, to achieve this level of practice.

The Benefits:

  • Salary: $120,326.96 - $126,056.94 AUD per annum (Pro rata basis for partime), plus 11.5% superannuation
  • Permanent part time position available, upto 30hours a fortnight.
