REQUIREMENTS TO BE A CHILDCARE PROGRAM LEAD:

• 21 years of age or older
• Current state approved first aid certification
• Current CPR certification
• Minimum two years experience working with children
• Knowledge and experience in childwatch or babysitting including a demonstrated ability to provide age-appropriate activities to children, ages 5 years to 11 years.
• Ability to communicate effectively with members, staff, peers, volunteers and supervisor.
• Ability to effectively communicate information on YMCA Programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF A CHILDCARE PROGRAM LEAD:

• Coordinates childcare programs to meet the needs of the community and meet Y objectives.
• Develops and maintains programs in accordance with organizational and operational plans.
• Ensure records of staff certifications are current and complete; provide training as needed.
• Organizes and facilitates age-appropriate activities
• Supervises and interacts with children at play safely.
• Complies with all Childcare Cabinet responsibilities, including attending meetings as needed.
