SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- ECE Certificate or Diploma.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Child Care or After-School programs.
- Experience supervising a team, including recruitment, hiring, performance management, and training.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain focus and productivity in a busy work environment.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Comfortable working in a team setting as well as individually.
- A strong understanding of the NB Curriculum Framework and a Place to Connect program is an asset.
- First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
- Own Transportation is required.
- Employment is contingent on having a clean Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and clearance from the Department of Social Development.
Responsibilities:
- Comply with New Brunswick Childcare Standards and YMCA guidelines.
- Develop child-centred programs aligned with YMCA and New Brunswick standards.
- Manage day-to-day operations, acting as the primary contact for participants and referrals.
- Promote programs in the community and assist in recruitment strategies.
- Ensure all program requirements, including space, materials, and snacks, are met.
- Administer programs and maintain accurate records by YMCA policies.
- Uphold YMCA Child Protection policies and procedures.
- Analyze center metrics and propose improvements to meet targets.
- Work closely with other Y departments on programming at the site.
- Facilate team building activities for different client groups.
- Collaborate with Anglophone South School District.
- Maintain open communication and address any issues promptly.
- Supervise, recruit, and manage After School staff.
- Manage center budgets and ensure financial targets are met.
- Implement and monitor curriculum, child protection, and licensing inspections.
- Attend YMCA training for program enhancement.
- Supervise After School Programs and staff.
- Assist in other centre operations as requested.
