JOB SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for the optimal running of production activities as to ensure that the products are produced according to standards, technical specifications and customer requirements in a work environment where health and safety are paramount. The Supervisor participates in the planning and organization of production and is called upon to work in close collaboration with services such as Human Resources, planning, technical services and quality assurance in order to detect and resolve production issues. The Supervisor manages the various production files and supports the employees in achieving the company’s objectives. Finally, it ensures compliance with good manufacturing practices and the maintenance of a healthy and safe working environment.

AFTERNOON SHIFT PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

  • Ensures to build a culture oriented towards the health and safety of his team members by maintaining a safe work environment, and by always ensuring the application and respect of safe work methods.
  • Organizes and controls the work and priorities of their department including, packers, to ensure optimal production performance. Communicate regularly with each member of their team.
  • Monitors current productions by following KPI to ensure operational targets are met.
  • Mobilize their team around common goals to ensure superior performance and retention of team members.
  • Absence monitoring for all packers.
  • Lead weekly shift safety walk and ensure findings are communicated to Safety coordinator.
  • Treats team members with dignity and respect, ensures their development and fulfillment at work.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate safety standards and applicable laws and regulations issued by regulatory agencies.
  • Follow up on the start-up process for each run to ensure that jobs are set up for success and deficiencies being corrected.
  • Carry out training initiatives with production and quality team members.
  • Review time sheet to ensure accurate payroll.
  • Control absenteeism to ensure presence of the workforce base on their respective schedule.
  • Evaluates the performance of each member of their team, performs positive reinforcement or addresses changes as appropriate by carrying out rigorous follow-ups to ensure production objectives are met.
  • Ensures the production of containers in quantity and quality as scheduled.
  • Facilitate shift start meetings, participate in monthly operations meetings and other committees as appropriate.

Qualifications Requirements

  • College or University Degree preferred in Operations Management and/or relevant experience.
  • 3 to 5 years experience in management and / or supervision of personnel in a manufacturing environment. Additional training around Operations would be an asset.
  • Experience with Lean Management and Continuous Improvement preferred.
  • The candidate must stand out for their team spirit, their autonomy, their leadership, and their ability to coordinate several actions with several different stakeholders (on different shifts).
  • Excellent communication skills in the English language both verbal and written.
  • Strong Communicator with outside of the box thinking.
  • Experience with KPI and deadlines preferred.
  • Autonomous, dependable, planning, delegation and teamwork.
  • Be a team player, energetic, determined and who has a good capacity for synthesis and analysis.
  • Being open and have good listening skills.
  • Organizational skills and manage priorities well.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to manage conflicts.
  • Great sense of autonomy and initiative.
  • Strong skills and experience using Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook & Excel).
  • Demonstrates good and safe work habits and have a clean working environment.
