In accordance with the EU regulations on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles, smart Europe, as an OEM, is required to provide vehicle Onboard Diagnosis information (OBD) and vehicle repair and maintenance information (RMI) to IAM (Independent After Market) operators, resellers and other official bodies (e.g., authorities).
Therefore, we are looking for an experienced Aftersales professional to join our team on a one year contract, to ensure compliance with the regulations to provide ODB and RMI and, moreover, to maintain the smart Europe aftersales value proposition by supporting the design and implementation of related B2B business models.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Degree as bachelor or a master in a Technical Engineering and/or related technical field (or equivalent)
  • 5+ years professional experience in the automotive industry (ideally within an OEM)
  • 4+ years of professional operative experience within Service/aftersales (preferably working with an Electric Vehicles)

KNOWLEDGE/FUNCTIONAL EXPERTISE

  • Deep understanding of the automotive aftersales market (service- and parts business)
  • Deep understanding on how typical aftersales systems are organized and structured (Diagnosis-, Maintenance-, Repair-, Parts-Information Systems)
  • Solid knowledge of processes within the major aftersales areas (Technical Services, Spare Parts, Warranty, Market Management)
  • Basic legal knowledge in data protection, contracts, and compliance
  • Understanding of international markets and cultural differences, especially in regions like China and overseas markets

  • Collaborative mindset and strong organizational skills to lead and coordinate various projects and initiatives across different teams
  • Excellent self-organization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills to maintain related relationships with the respective internal- and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal departments to ensure that all processes align with internal policies
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Excellent English language skills, ideally also fluent in a second European language

Responsibilities:

  • Leading and coordinating the development of suitable license- and data packages for the provision of OBD and RMI, considering technical as well as regulatory/legal requirements
  • Elaboration and implementation of concepts for the provision of ODB and RMI using the available smart system landscape
  • Processing and managing of all requests from Independent Service Providers (ISP) and Data Resellers with regards to ODB and RMI
  • Maintaining a continuous communication and exchange with all IAM operators as well as authorities (or their delegated agencies) to meet their expectations
  • Further development towards new markets such as overseas and new General Distributor markets
  • Coordination of all aspects related to OBD and RMI within smart and smart HQ
  • Creation of an end-to-end documentation and reporting related to the tasks and responsibilities
  • Design of an RMI platform incl. provision of business requirements and steer the IT implementation
  • Definition of suitable pricing- and offer concepts as well as development of business cases for the provision of OBD and RMI to IAM operators
  • Negotiation of OBD and RMI pricing and offerings with IAM operators, including contractual agreements (NDAs, License agreements and certificates)
  • Internal alignment with the legal- and compliance departments on contractual agreements and data protection concerns following the given internal processes
