AG LENDER

On behalf of our client, Sunrise Credit Union, we are currently recruiting for an Ag Lender in Treherne, Manitoba. The Ag Lender will promote and advise the member with a full range of credit union products and services. They will actively participate in all branch campaigns to promote loan growth. The Ag lender will support members whose needs are complex and require innovative and creative solutions to support their operations.
Reporting to the Manager of Lending, the Ag lender is responsible for the credit granting functions including interviewing members, assessing credit worthiness and authorizing loans within limits. The ideal candidate will have lending experience and be motivated, influential and organized.

YOU AND YOUR EXPERIENCE:

  • You have a minimum of four years’ experience working in the financial services industry.
  • You are fully competent in all areas of agricultural lending.
  • You have previous experience in consulting while working with goals, strong closing/referral techniques and pipeline development.
  • You have relationship and/or business development skills conducive to creating andmaintaining a pipeline to best consult your members/clients.
  • You have excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • You have the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • You have a good understanding of credit union computer systems and principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Meeting with members to understand their needs, advise them on solutions, and provide a forward-looking financial plan.
  • Developing and maintaining a member client base through existing members, cold-calling and referrals.
  • Evaluating credit worthiness through analyzing financial statements and completing the appropriate loan application and documentation.
  • Granting loans with discretional lending authority and managing a portfolio of members.
  • Conducting annual reviews of loans as well as normal follow up on accounts.
  • Representing the credit union in the community by engaging in local business activities to deepen existing relationships while proactively seeking out new business opportunities.
  • Identifying opportunities to promote and advise the member on a full range of credit union products and services.
