Description:
Saskatoon Co-op invites applications for the position of Ag Solutions Advisor in the Ag Division at our Ag Site in Hepburn, SK.
Reporting to the Ag Sales Manager, this position is accountable to meet and exceed sales and agronomic responsibilities through the effective management of farm accounts throughout the sales cycles within a designated sales territory.
Key responsibilities for this position include the following:
- Build relationships with new and existing customers while providing superior customer service
- Complete sales, marketing and transactional requirements for seed, fertilizer, and crop protection products while achieving sales, margins and inventory targets.
- Work with producers on crop planning including fertility, seed and crop protection utilizing Digital Ag platform.
- Provide agronomic service and support to growers on various facets including seed, fertility,
4R nutrient stewardship, plant health, field scouting, weed identification, herbicide selection and rotation, insect and disease management
- Provide in season after hour service and emergency availability.
- Develop marketing initiatives for individual territory including conducting grower meetings.
- Utilize Saskatoon Co-op credit programs to ensure adequate credit facilities are in place for the growing season.
- Assist growers with product performance complaints in a timely fashion & keep accurate records
- Support the sale of Bulk Certified Seed and custom seed treatment application from Saskatoon Plant as well as on-farm seed treating, custom spraying and delivery services as required.
- Ensure all health and safety requirements are met and followed as per policy including TDG, WHIMIS, Forklift, Emergency Response, Spill management and all required E learning activities.
- Contribute to Ag Sales and Marketing for Co-op by utilizing internal programs for product forecasting, reporting, action plans, new client documentation and customer databases (CRM).
- Attend internal and external training seminars and supplier/industry events as approved by team leader.
- Communicate customer and competitive information to team members through the Agre’ system
QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate must have a strong agricultural background with 5+ proven years of industry sales experience. The preferred candidate should also have a post-secondary diploma or degree in Ag and or Business Candidates must have strong interpersonal, time-management and multi-tasking skills and will have the ability and willingness to travel to various sites and grower locations.
