Job Description: Part-Time Seasonal Potato Grader
Position Summary:
The potato grader is responsible for inspecting and sorting potatoes as they move along a conveyor belt to ensure they meet quality standards. This is a seasonal position, requiring attention to detail, efficiency, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect potatoes for defects, such as bruises, discoloration, or rot.
• Remove damaged or substandard potatoes from the conveyor belt.
• Sort potatoes according to size and quality specifications.
• Monitor machinery to ensure the grading line operates efficiently and safely.
• Clean work areas and maintain a safe, organized workspace.
• Communicate any equipment issues or concerns to supervisors.

Requirements:

• Ability to stand for long periods and work in a repetitive, fast-paced environment.
• Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, during the peak season.
• Ability to lift and move light to moderately heavy loads (e.g., bags of potatoes).
• Comfortable working in a dusty, noisy environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in agricultural or factory settings is an asset but not required.
• Understanding of basic safety protocols.

This position offers a hands-on experience in agriculture, with opportunities to contribute to the quality control of locally grown produce.

Contract length: 6 months
Pay: From $17.20 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 30 per week
