Description:
About us: Gaia Consulting Ltd, established in 1987, conducts potato and other vegetable research trials for crop input manufacturers, commodity associations, food processors, growers and government.
About the job: This is a term position starting on April 28, 2025 and ending Aug 29, 2025. We are currently looking for individuals capable of carrying out activities related to small plot agricultural research. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in many areas of research including methodology, equipment operation, weed, disease and insect identification and agronomic practices. The successful applicants will work with research agronomists to:
- Establish and maintain research trials including field preparation, seed preparation, planting, and pest scouting/control.
- Apply test substances according to protocol.
- Conduct assessments and collect data.

- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as contributing to a team environment.
- Strong problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and with an attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Enjoy working outside.
- Valid Canadian driver’s license.
- Experience in research or with agricultural equipment are assets but not necessities.
- Farm background is an asset.
