Is seeking a full-time Outpatient Psychiatrist for Bariatrics and Plastics
AdventHealth Orlando is seeking a specialized Outpatient Psychiatrist with expertise in bariatrics and plastics to join our team. This role focuses on providing psychiatric evaluation, treatment, and support for patients undergoing bariatric and plastic surgery procedures. The psychiatrist will work closely with surgical teams to address mental health concerns related to body image, weight management, and post-surgical adjustments.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and patients.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong medical decision-making skills.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Medical Degree
- Psychiatry experience (preferred)
Responsibilities:
The MD or DO, is responsible for:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and create individualized treatment plans for patients undergoing bariatric and plastic surgery.
- Provide pre- and post-operative psychological support and counseling.
- Collaborate with surgeons, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals for integrated patient care.
- Manage and monitor mental health medications and address psychological aspects of weight management and body image.
- Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and stay updated on relevant treatments and advancements.
- Perform hospital rounds, consult on Baker Act cases, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and track patient progress.
