Responsibilities:
Multiple staff positions are open in the Institute for Informatics and Applied Technology (IIAT) to help drive faculty, students, and community innovations via responsible AI and data science practices.
IIAT Mission Statement: In an era defined by rapid advancements in artificial intelligence, Gonzaga aims to lead the way in AI-infused, humanity-centered education by transforming how students, faculty and staff learn, research and innovate through AI. The Institute for Informatics and Applied Technology (IIAT) will help Gonzaga establish its position as a trailblazer in Responsible AI education, transforming how students, faculty, staff across disciplines and the community across sectors learn, teach, research and innovate through responsible AI advances and practices.
This position, AI Engineer, as an AI Factory engineering staff, is responsible for researching and developing AI software prototypes for faculty and students across Gonzaga University as well as community partners. This position will responsibly explore, develop, and use technology advances in AI, and help elevate the GU and partners’ knowledge and competency in these technological areas and consequently innovate for responsible learning, teaching, and business operations. This position will work closely with the IIAT Director and the other staff members to continue advance their own knowledge and skillset in these areas and how they connect to humanity and society for responsible technology innovation.
The budgeted annual salary range that the University reasonably expects to offer for this position is $100,000 – $115,000 annually.
The internal full salary range is $81,600 – $136,000.
