REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related fields.
- An active public trust is required to start with the ability to obtain and maintain a public trust.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience with demonstrated results in Data Science, specifically with federal clients.
- Strong knowledge of AI and ML concepts, methodologies, techniques, and technologies.
- Experience with synthetic data generation, augmentation, and analysis.
- Understanding in ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Huggingface, Keras, and Scikit-learn.
- Familiarity with cloud services like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for ML deployment.
- Experience in policy analysis and strategy regarding AI ethics and standards is a plus.
- Demonstrable expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, and other relevant technical domains, with a blend of advanced analytical capabilities and consulting expertise to deliver value and insights for the customer.

Responsibilities:
- Provide expert analysis on AI use cases, ensuring alignment with GSA’s AI Policy and federal standards for responsible AI.
- Advise on the coordination and strategic direction of AI governance and safety boards, including preparing meeting materials, guiding discussions, and ensuring effective decision-making.
- Ensure alignment of AI initiatives and data governance practices with Executive Orders, GSA Policies, and Commercial Best Practices to ensure compliance with both federal mandates and industry standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders—including AI developers, data scientists, cybersecurity teams, privacy staff, and executives—to:
oIntegrate AI governance and responsible AI practices into every phase of the AI development lifecycle.
oGuide the development of risk mitigation strategies and actionable plans for AI-related challenges.
oDevelop and communicate AI governance policies and frameworks to ensure ethical and compliant AI use.
oProvide strategic oversight for the development and maintenance of an AI safety board dashboard to monitor AI use cases, associated risks, and governance decisions.
- Advise on the development and ongoing enhancement of enterprise data doctrine, including policies, standards, and strategies such as SOPs, white papers, and implementation guidance.
oFocus on key FY25 priorities: Open Data, Data Release Policy, Data Quality Policy, Data Cataloging Standards, and Data Stewardship Roles and Responsibilities.
- Provide strategic direction for the coordination of data governance committees and related working groups, ensuring that meeting outcomes align with organizational goals.
- Maintain an advisory role in managing the CDO artifacts inventory and CDO Google site, ensuring up-to-date and accurate governance documentation.
- Oversee the creation of executive-level presentations and reports related to data governance topics, ensuring clarity and alignment with agency objectives.
- Advise on data practitioner training programs, providing strategic input on training content and logistics as necessary.
